@kitt hmm...that's tricky. On one hand it's always nice to acknowledge someone doing something nice (and my husband and I do occasionally thank each other for doing various chores around the place), but on the other you don't want to set the expectation that it's something out of the ordinary that needs to be observed every time. I'd lean towards the thanking, because I guess the politeness could overflow into other areas :)
