@vasta that's really interesting - in my part of the world the process has been the opposite: a move from a complete Anglo-centric diet (nz food up to the 80s was pretty British) to one that has seriously-broadened horizons. I think it's really been embraced in NZ - but of course we have to put our own spin on it. And "our" could mean a traditional pakeha/"ethnic" fusion, but more and more we are seeing traditionally Maori foods being the focus. Rather than being a dilution it feels broadening. It's exciting :)
